Kopan Café

On the terrace with the greatest view of the Kathmandu valley anywhere, you will find the Kopan Café. It is a major meeting point for our guests, useful for finding people to go to Kathmandu with, pick up your taxi, or just chat over a cup of coffee.

It offers great meals and snacks, and the best hot ginger lemon and iced coffee. If you are looking for a snack, a typical Nepali Thali, or the famous Tibetan momos, you are at the right place.

If you are on a special diet, the staff will be happy to make something that will suit you.

Kopan General Store

Next to the Kopan Cafe is the Kopan General Shop. It supplies most of the daily necessities, such as toiletries, bottled water, batteries, toilet paper, towels, thermos flasks and cups. Perhaps most important it has a great range of sweets, biscuits, chocolates, soft drinks and other snacks, essential to keeping heart and soul together after a hard day meditating.  In winter you will find all the things needed to keep you warm, such as warm sweaters, gloves and wooly hats, hot water bottles, and socks. For the casual visitor it also offers a range of gift items such as incense, shawls, T-shirts and post cards. The friendly staff will help you with just about anything. Just ask.

Cyber Cafe

Inside the shop is what some visitors would call the most important place in the monastery – the cyber café.  Four computers are available to access your email.  You can make international phone calls through the internet phone, and get any photocopies done.
